Overview

Verathon is looking for an Electrical Engineer II to become the newest member of our Visualization Business R&D Team located in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Electrical Engineer II is responsible for contributing to product development programs as an electrical design engineer.

Responsibilities

· Assist more senior engineers in electrical circuits design and performs circuit analyses

· Prepare digital and analog electrical circuit design documentation according to the industry standards and Verathon procedures

· Design and build test fixtures for product validation and verification

· Use advanced engineering methods and techniques to solve technical problems

· Contribute to selection of electrical components and materials for new product development

· Conduct circuit simulations, tests prototypes, and prepares technical reports

· Support sustaining activities for current products

· Work closely with supervisor to ensure assigned tasks are completed according to the project schedule

· Participate in project planning and ensures assigned tasks are completed according to schedule

· Interact with vendors and suppliers

· Participate in staff meetings, providing feedback based on observation and experience

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineeringor similar qualification

- Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

- EIT from the EGBC preferred; ability and willingness to obtain a EIT license required *

- Good practical knowledge of schematic and PCB design, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to contribute to complete system design with reliable and efficient solutions

- Ability to communicate medium complexity tasks with another disciplines, such as mechanical and software

- Detail oriented, well organized, and interested in the latest technology

- Skilled at using various engineering lab equipment and tools, such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators

- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

- Excellent documentation proficiency

- Experience in the field of medical devices is preferred
