Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to design power electrical systems for hydroelectric plants and related energy infrastructure in Quebec. The role involves layout and installation engineering for medium- and high-voltage equipment, producing technical drawings, specifications, and equipment lists, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will mentor engineers-in-training and collaborate with clients across Canada to ensure project success, adhering to Quebec

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• Licensed Professional Engineer with OIQ registration.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical power systems.
• Experience with hydroelectricity, substations or complex energy infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Quebec standards and codes.
• Experience with AutoCAD and specialized industry tools.

Responsibilities

• Design power electrical systems for hydroelectric plants and energy infra.
• Perform layout and installation engineering for switchgear, distribution centers and panels.
• Produce drawings, single-line diagrams, specs, and equipment lists.
• Conduct sizing calculations for equipment and cables.
• Participate in equipment selection and review vendor documents.
• Coordinate work with civil, structural, mechanical teams.
• Attend field surveys, site visits, tests and commissioning as needed.
• Mentor engineers-in-training, designers and technicians.
• Engage in technical discussions with clients to contribute to projects
