A leading energy company in Atlantic Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer (HVdc) for a permanent position. The candidate will work on the Maritime Link project, contributing to reliability and performance objectives while fostering a culture of safety and innovation. Successful applicants will possess strong analytical and communication skills, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and three years of relevant experience.

Emera Newfoundland & Labrador (ENL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Emera Inc. (EMA-TSX), operates the Maritime Link, an integrated set of transmission assets that deliver renewable electricity from Muskrat Falls in Labrador through Newfoundland to Nova Scotia. Operational since January 2018, the Maritime Link delivers reliable, clean electricity to Nova Scotians and contributes to energy sharing and grid reliability in Atlantic Canada while also helping achieve provincial and national clean energy targets.
With office and site locations in Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador, the 500-megawatt HVdc Maritime Link includes switchyards, two converter stations, 400km of overhead transmission lines, two transition compounds, two grounding sites and two 170km submarine cables.

We are currently looking for an HVdc Engineer to join our team in a permanent position. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer you will be a key member of the team contributing to the achievement of ENL’s reliability and performance objectives. The successful candidate joins us at a time where a number of technology projects are on the horizon, and when inspection and maintenance strategies for the Maritime Link are evolving. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, as well as to drive improvements and efficiencies across our assets.
