Job description

Reporting to the Electrical General Supervisor, you will be part of the Energy & Infrastructure Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Ensure power availability on site (UG and Surface) with low and medium voltage equipment
  • Track energy consumption and load list ownership of site electrical distribution
  • Electrical & instrumentation engineering and technical project management
  • Establish, design and update distribution plans, construction plans and standards specifications
  • Support coordinators, supervisors, operation and Energy & Infrastructure staff
  • Involve in electrical reliability and advanced troubleshooting
  • Assist on site specialist when needed
  • Ensure compliance to Canadian Electrical Code, Workplace Electrical Safety and Use of Electricity in Mines
  • Ensure compliance to Consolidation of Mine health & Safety ActN.W.T.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Active member of a provincial professional organization such as OIQ, PEO or NAPEG
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Must have underground distribution experience
  • Experience with automation & instrumentation is an asset
  • Remote or arctic Mining site experience is an asset
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of CAD and Autocad software

Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English.

Your Work Schedule:

· Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest

· Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
