CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join the Buildings team in Edmonton, Alberta. You’ll contribute to electrical system design across healthcare, municipal, commercial, and infrastructure projects, collaborating with engineers and technologists to deliver high-quality solutions.

You’ll balance technical design, project coordination, and field engagement, including site visits and construction support, with a hybrid work model and potential Edmonton office presence.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills (English)
• Over 6 years of electrical engineering experience in buildings
• Experience mentoring junior technical staff is an asset
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is required
• Eligible for APEGA – P.Eng. or P.L.Eng.
• Valid Canadian driver’s license with transportation for site reviews

Responsabilités

• Design and develop electrical systems for buildings including lighting, power distribution, communications, security, and fire alarm systems
• Prepare electrical designs, drawings, and models using Revit and AutoCAD
• Perform electrical design calculations and assist with equipment selection and system layouts
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines
• Conduct site visits and field investigations to review existing conditions and support construction activities
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams
• Support proposal preparation and contribute to project planning activities
• Continued professional development through internal and external learning opportunities
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to the growth of the local team
• Engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong relationships
• Contribute to growth of Edmonton Buildings practice
