Sounds awesome, but what would you be doing in this role?

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the successful planning, design, execution, and completion of projects for our clients. They have a strong commitment to high quality, optimized, and cost-effective delivery of Electrical Engineering projects ensuring safety, compliance, and overall client satisfaction. This role will provide technical expertise, guidance, training, and mentorship to their team.

The Electrical Engineer will act as the Project Manager on single discipline projects ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget. They will coordinate with Gerrits Project Management Department on multi-disciplinary projects to ensure the projects are moving forward as planned. This role will also write proposals, project abstracts, and technical reports.

The Electrical Engineer will uphold the Company Values to ensure we are building strong relationships with our clients and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Company.

What qualifications would you need to be successful in this role?
  • Professional Engineering license with PEO (other provincial registrations considered an asset).
  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in engineering with Electrical Engineering focus.
  • 3-5 years relevant working experience as an Engineer in an Engineering Consulting firm.
  • Industrial, Commercial and Residential building design experience considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Revit, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, Ontario Building Code, Ontario Electrical Safety Code, and NFPA standards.
  • Design experience with power and lighting systems.
