Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to provide technical support in the area of power systems and electrical and instrumentation design for our heavy industrial projects in mining, port & marine and renewable energy projects

Responsibilities
  • Providing feasibility assessment and preliminary / detailed design for a variety of industrial facilities and commercial buildings. Work will include power and control schemes, substation, switchgear, single line diagrams, cable schedules, equipment and cable tray layouts, protective relaying design and configuration, particularly involving motor, transformer and feeder protection, and grounding and lighting layouts.
  • Electrical equipment specification, evaluation, and procurement.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and senior management members.
  • Preparing proposals and project cost estimates, including managing workload and balancing internal and client priorities.
  • Resolving instrument, control, and electrical technical issues.
  • Ensuring standard specifications/procedures and systems are followed.
Qualifications
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Vancouver, British Columbia is required.
  • 8 years progressive experience in oil & gas, mining or port and marine terminal, and other heavy industry projects is essential.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and has excellent time management skills.
  • Experience with alternative power generation technologies, instrumentation, controls, or industrial networks is an asset.
  • Power systems software analysis skills (ETAP).is required
  • Proficient in application of relevant electrical codes and standards.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
