Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Power Utility, Mining / Industrial, or Renewable Energy sectors.
  • Solid knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, Canadian electric utility industry practices, CSA Standards and Local Codes.
  • Experience with LV, MV and HV applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support through knowledge of electrical engineering design principles.
  • Manage electrical scopes of multi-disciplinary projects.

Wood is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Eastern Canada Operations team who will provide engineering support through the application of extensive and comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering design principles, and practices in the performance of all electrical discipline design work, across our Eastern Canada business.

  • Electrical Engineering Degree from a recognized university
  • Professional Engineer License with PEGNL in Newfoundland & Labrador or with PEO in Ontario or with APEGNB in New Brunswick
  • 5+ years of experience in the Power Utility, Mining / Industrial and / or Renewable Energy sectors considered an asset
  • Above average working knowledge of Protection & Controls, SCADA, Instrumentation and Telecoms will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrable experience in managing electrical scopes of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Solid knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, Canadian electric utility industry practices, CSA Standards and Local Codes
  • Experience with ETAP, SKM and Easypower would be an asset
  • Experience withLV, MV and HV applications would be an asset
  • Attention to detail and pride in work quality
  • Strong client focus
  • Resourceful team player with self-starter aptitude
  • Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
