Tetra Tech is adding an Electrical Engineer to our EI&C team based in Thunder Bay, ON .

Your Role:

  • Assist with the design of power distribution, control, communication, and lighting systems.
  • Assist with the design of instrumentation and process control systems.
  • Develop standard electrical and instrumentation (E&I) deliverables, including:
  • Equipment specifications, single-line diagrams, motor schematics & wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams, cable schedules, power & control layouts, instrumentation and valve specifications, instrument loop drawings, instrument location drawings, control system panel layouts and wiring diagrams, and installation scopes of work.
  • Assist with technical calculations and use software for load calculations, arc flash studies, fault & coordination studies, and power system design.
  • Assemble tender and construction documents and drawings for issue to clients.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure that documents and drawings are properly checked in accordance with company and client standards.
  • Assist with industrial control system programming (PLC and/or DCS) when required.
  • Perform on-site E&I field reviews and construction assistance with senior staff when required.
  • Assist senior staff with on-site commissioning and start-up when required.
  • Work collaboratively on multidiscipline projects with our project managers, project engineers, and the other engineering disciplines in our offices.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering or a related field.
  • 3-8 years of experience.
  • Eligible for registration as a professional engineer with PEO.
  • Experience in consulting, mining, forestry, or other industries an asset.
  • Familiarity with Canadian electrical standards and codes is considered an asset.
  • Ability to effectively plan time commitments on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
