Qualifications

Job description

Your role within the team:

  • Perform engineering work following AtkinsRéalis / Candu Energy procedures, QA programs, applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines to execute engineering tasks.
  • Participate in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design phases for CANDU and other nuclear electrical systems and modifications.
  • Prepare technical documents including engineering drawings, change markups, calculations, reports, specifications, and manuals.
  • Review interfacing discipline documentation.
  • Prepare requisitions or Engineering Quotation Requests (EQR) for procurement support.
  • Provide technical guidance to Designers/Drafters.
  • Supervise and review work of junior engineers/designers; assist in scheduling and work allocation.
  • Prepare scope of work and input for bid proposals.
  • Conduct field walk-downs and prepare reports.
  • Assist in construction and commissioning activities, including field changes and design revisions.
  • Complete tasks within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Respond promptly to engineering issues and provide solutions.

The ideal candidate:

  • Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
  • 8+ years in electrical engineering, power systems, preferably in nuclear industry.
  • Experience with power distribution systems, including design and calculations.
  • Knowledge of electrical power system modeling and analysis software like ETAP.
  • Familiarity with CANDU nuclear electrical systems and applicable codes (CSA 22.1, OESC).
  • Experience with electrical equipment procurement and support.
  • Knowledge of Nuclear QA guidelines and safety codes is a plus.
  • Site experience in construction or commissioning is an asset.
