Overview

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer with prior hands-on experience in electronic product development to join our cross-functional hardware team. You'll help design, validate, and bring to production embedded systems that combine high-speed digital, power, and sensor interfaces in rugged, real-world environments.

This role is ideal for an Engineer ready to take on greater ownership, from schematic design through to bring-up, test, and production support.

NOTE: Candidates must reside in The United States or Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schematic design and PCB layout oversight for digital and mixed-signal systems;
  • Support board bring-up and system integration alongside firmware and software teams;
  • Write and execute test plans for prototypes and production builds;
  • Perform component selection, BOM optimization, and supplier coordination;
  • Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams on product definition and delivery;
  • Own and maintain documentation for designs, test results, and revisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Prior experience shipping embedded systems – ideally embedded Linux systems. (3–6 years of experience is ideal);
  • Strong understanding of EE principles applied to circuit board design: signal integrity, power delivery, firmware, and peripheral standards (USB, I2C, SPI, etc);
  • Proficient in creating schematics and PCB layouts, as well as reviewing them. (We use Kicad.);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. (Being remote, we are a document forward group!);
  • Comfortable with lab tools: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc;
  • Familiarity with board-level debugging and prototype rework.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience designing for and debugging USB, Ethernet, or other high-speed interfaces;
  • Prior work with complex embedded Linux SOCs or FPGAs (experience with Xilinx FPGAs/ Zynq/ZynqMP is a huge plus);
  • Comfortable with writing C for firmware or embedded Linux applications. (Plenty of room to expand here, if interested!);
  • Experience with low-power, anti tamper, or mechanical system design;
  • Familiarity with compliance testing (EMI/ESD/thermal);
  • Some scripting or automation (e.g., Python, test data capture).
Compensation & Benefits:
  • The Compensation Range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Please note that the actual compensation may vary depending on location and job-related factors such as qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills.
