Job summary

Ausenco is seeking an Electrical Package Engineer for major electrical packages within a heavy industrial EPCM setting in Canada. You’ll design single lines, grounding layouts, cable tray routing, power layouts and wiring diagrams for P&C, and coordinate with suppliers and clients to clarify specs.

Applicants should have a recognized undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, P.Eng. or eligible, and 5+ years in electrical design.

Qualifications

• Recognized undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Registered as a P.Eng. or eligibility to do so
• 5+ years’ experience in design of electrical systems within an EPCM in a heavy industrial environment. Mining experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code is a must, and familiarity with international standards is advantageous.
• Experience with building electrical systems, such as, fire alarms, security, lighting & communications, fibre network, and data network will be an asset.
• Familiarity with power system study software such as ETAP, SKM, or Easy Power will be an asset.
• Construction site service experience & working directly with client is required.

• Recommend changes in plans and specify estimated costs.
• Consult with other departments, suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications.
• Evaluate supplier’s proposals and deliverable documentation.
• Help prepare technical reports, tender documentation and field support (including commissioning/site inspection).
• Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis, budget estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.
• Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs.
• Ensure that project deliverables are met in a timely manner to a high-quality.
• Direct and mentor junior staff.]

About you

Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually
