Position: Electrical Designer

The Designer provides support to the Electrical Engineering Department. Responsibilities include performing design and technical calculations, creating construction details, drawings, and diagrams related to project requirements. Candidates must be able to perform these duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform design and technical calculations, material lists, construction details, drawings, and diagrams for overhead and underground transmission/distribution systems.
• Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Work independently on recurring assignments and exercise judgment to select applicable methods.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited program in Electrical/Civil/Mechanical Technology or Technician with OACETT Certification.
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant design/drafting experience in consulting or energy environments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Microstation.
• Knowledge of the Canadian Safety Code.
• Computer skills in MS Office Suite.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Experience in an engineering consulting firm is an asset.
• Experience with 3D design software is an asset.
