  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and partners.
  • Collaborate within an Integrated Multi Discipline team in both estimating and operations to optimize efficiency and pricing.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure efficient and cost-effective project designs, aligning closely with project requirements.
  • Manage pursuit schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with consultant partners on system layouts and decision-making for estimates.
  • Understand the impact of building operations design decisions.
  • Produce accurate quotations through material and labour take-off.
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors and suppliers for pricing.
  • Manage project tasks within time and budget constraints, overseeing team members’ work quality.
  • Coordinate system installations with other design disciplines.
  • Research and implement changes to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Stay updated on current industry techniques, codes, and standards.
  • Participate in bid review and handover meetings.
  • Maintain and develop new business opportunities.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to junior design staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum five (5) years of engineering experience in the Electrical Construction industry, with an Electrical Engineering degree/diploma or related education/trade experience.
  • Professional Engineer licensed in Ontario or BC, or Ingénieur licensed in Québec, considered an asset.
  • Experience in Design Build/P3 Healthcare projects specific to distribution, fire alarm, and lighting is required.

Applicants must include a detailed project list with resume submission.

  • Design Build Construction related experience, ideally completing a full cycle P3 project, is a definite asset.
  • Experience with various Low Voltage systems (e.g. Security, IT Systems, Nurse Call) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of relevant building and electrical codes/standards (e.g. NBCC, OESC, CSA, NFPA, etc.) required.
  • Ability to travel, attending meetings with Architects and Consultants required.
  • A strong understanding of how design decisions impact cost is required.
  • Strong decision-making ability for estimate development continuation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Accubid Pro and/or Enterprise considered a definite asset.
