Job summary

1st Avenue Power is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support solar and battery storage project execution. You will create site layouts and electrical drawings, conduct feasibility studies, and develop design packages to set build standards.

Responsibilities include BOM development, BOP modeling, fault current analysis, and cross‑functional collaboration with mechanical and project teams. A PE license path is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• Experience in solar and/or battery storage industry.
• Strong proficiency in electrical drafting and CAD.
• Experience with site layout development and feasibility modeling.
• Familiarity with electrical balance of plant concepts and NEC/UL 1741/IEEE 1547.
• Ability to translate high-level direction into detailed design deliverables.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license pursuit or interest is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create site layouts and electrical drawings per engineering direction.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new projects and concepts.
• Develop early-stage design packages to establish build standards.
• Contribute to cost estimates for go/no-go decisions.
• Perform BOP/site modeling and analysis for projects.
• Support safety and fault current analysis including battery layout optimization.
• Research concepts and develop technical solutions with senior engineers.
• Manage CAD deliverables: site drawings, schematics, conductor sizing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, power electronics, and project teams.
• Help build BOMs with procurement for projects and products.
• Coordinate with utilities and AHJs for service and permitting.
• Travel as needed.
• Assist with other duties as required.
