Electrical Design Engineer (Photovoltaic Plant) for a Construction Project in the USA

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (www.protecnium.com/en). We are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team for a construction project in The Woodlands, Texas, USA (on-site position).

Project: Photovoltaic Plant

Estimated duration: 2 years. We aim to place employees on other projects after completion to ensure continuity.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop electrical design documents and drawings for renewable energy/BESS projects.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations for string sizing, cable sizing, studies, inverter sizing, and quantities.
• Create preliminary design concepts based on engineering principles for solar PV and BESS systems for RFPs.
• Coordinate with clients, project management, procurement, and other engineering disciplines regarding electrical systems.
• Collaborate with departments to support design concepts and optimize solar PV system designs.
• Guide CAD designers on layouts, single-line diagrams, and detailed drawings.
• Ensure the use of proper procedures, guidelines, and tools on projects.
• Participate in project meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the EE Manager.
• Develop expertise in modules, racking systems, inverters, and drivers for utility-scale solar PV projects.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

• Minimum 4 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in the construction of PV plants >70 MW, working directly with construction companies.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD and PVsyst.
• Understanding of manufacturer specifications, application constraints, and installation requirements.
• Proficiency in creating site plans and single-line diagrams for DC and AC systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with professionalism under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Handling and payment of US work visa.
