Job summary

Tolko is seeking a Project Manager (Electrical/Controls) to lead controls projects across Northern Alberta with preference for Slave Lake and remote Edmonton work options. The role involves traveling 70% to three SBB mills, providing technical and project management leadership on capital projects, and serving as the industry SME for Tolko.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in PLC/HMI programming, electrical power systems, and project leadership, with experience in visualization

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical/engineering discipline.
• Professional certification as an Engineer or Technologist.
• PMP certification is a strong asset.
• 7+ years in Controls and Automation in an industrial setting.
• 5+ years in manufacturing forest products is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Travel regularly (approx. 70%) to SBB mills for capital projects.
• Provide technical and project management expertise on capital projects.
• Lead commissioning and start-up activities for control systems.
• Define, design, develop, and commission plant-wide control.
• Create technical specifications and system architecture drawings.
• Review LV power systems, MCC layouts, and VFD specs.
