ISL Engineering is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer-in-Training to join our Western Canada team. This role offers a flexible hybrid work environment across design, field work and commissioning, with opportunities to contribute from concept through startup and operations support.

You will prepare AutoCAD drawings, design power distribution and control systems, assist with specifications, and participate in site visits. A degree in electrical engineering and E.I.T.

Qualifications

• E.I.T. registration in Alberta or British Columbia.
• Diploma or Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Approximately 3 to 4 years of early career experience in electrical engineering, controls engineering, instrumentation, or drafting.
• Hands on AutoCAD drafting experience.
• Experience in electrical, instrumentation, and controls systems design.
• Ability to travel for site reviews, field investigations, construction support, commissioning, and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for electrical, instrumentation and controls systems.
• Support design of power distribution, motor controls, VFDs, standby power, instrumentation, PLC panels, communication networks and related systems.
• Assist with specifications, equipment schedules, cable schedules, I/O lists, control narratives, reports, cost estimates and technical memoranda.
• Participate in site visits, field investigations, construction support, commissioning, startup and deficiency reviews.
• Coordinate with engineers, CAD staff, project managers, vendors, system integrators, contractors and operators.
• Use ISL quality procedures and follow established document production workflows.

About the Role

As an Electrical and Controls E.I.T. reporting into ISL’s Electrical and Automation team, you will enjoy a flexible hybrid work environment with technical variety across design, field work and commissioning as you make the following valuable contributions:

• Prepare and revise AutoCAD drawings for electrical, instrumentation and controls systems.

• $100,000 to $110,000 per annum
