Pratt & Whitney in Saint-Hubert, QC seeks an experienced electrotechnology professional to inspect, repair, and certify electrical components and assemblies. You will follow drawings, manage reworks, and ensure safety standards in a bilingual environment with training opportunities.

Role emphasizes reading schematics, applying lockout-tagout, and collaborating with planners and QA to maintain engine components and support manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

  • Requires a DEC in electrotechnology, industrial electronics, or related field.
  • Strong ability to read electrical and electrotechnical drawings.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of lockout-tagout rules and safety practices.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, repair, clean, inspect, weld, modify, reprogram, assemble, test, isolate, troubleshoot and adjust various electrical and electronic components to meet specifications.
  • Verify and certify airworthiness of parts.
  • Determine repairs or modifications needed to restore equipment.
  • Maintain documentation and perform required computer transactions.
  • Keep records of parameters to ensure efficient operations with SPC.
  • Communicate with planning and other teams to adjust operating parameters as needed.
  • Assist in final installation adjustments on stored engines or during tests.
  • May operate several machines simultaneously.

What you need to succeed
  • Holder of a DEC in electrotechnology, industrial electronics, or industrial electronic technology
  • Expertise in predictive analysis equipment and machine condition monitoring
  • Recognized expertise in machine safety
  • Excellent understanding of lockout-tagout rules (audit)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical mind
  • Mastery of reading electrical and electrotechnical drawings

  • Familiarity with computer systems, Windows operating system, and the Microsoft suite
  • This position is in a French-speaking work environment; however, it requires a basic knowledge of English to understand certain specialized work instructions, drawings, and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations.
What your daily routine will look like
  • Work from verbal or written instructions, drawings, or control management programs regarding methods and equipment to be used.
  • Disassemble, repair, clean, inspect, weld, modify, reprogram, assemble, test, isolate, troubleshoot, and adjust various electrical and electronic components to ensure specifications are met.
  • Verify and certify the airworthiness of parts.
  • Determine repairs or modifications to be performed.
  • Restore surface finish by performing the required treatment, such as painting and minor touch-ups.
  • Complete and approve documentation necessary for the work and perform required computer transactions.
  • Verify, make adjustments, and accept or reject parts and accessories.
  • Keep appropriate records of various parameters up to date in order to establish efficient operations with statistical process control.
  • Make decisions concerning the continuity of operations, discuss the situation with planners, and recommend modifications to operating parameters in order to meet specifications.
  • Communicate with technical support, quality assurance, and other services to clarify, evaluate, and resolve difficulties on accessories or methods and provide an assessment.
  • Follow up and apply established provisions.
  • Make necessary adjustments for the final installation of the accessory directly on the stored engine or during tests.
  • May be required to operate several closely spaced machines simultaneously.
Specific responsibilities of the position
  • Participate in the development of new processes, products, and reworks for the choice of methods and tools.
  • Wash, preserve, package, identify, and move parts while ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Take necessary items from stores and bins and report issues and material needs to the manager.
  • Perform maintenance routines to ensure, among other things, that fluid levels are adequate, filters are clean, and the general condition of the machine complies with the checklist.
  • Keep equipment and work environment clean and in good condition.
  • Participate in training and share knowledge with teammates on various equipment and tasks.
