Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an Electrical BIM Designer in Canada (Ontario, Richmond Hill) to support electrical discipline modeling and digital delivery. You will generate BIM elements, maintain models, and coordinate with engineers to meet project scope and DDP requirements.

You will interpret electrical sketches, create detailed drawings in Revit and other 3D tools, and proactively communicate progress, clashes, and scheduling impacts while upholding HDR standards.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience.
• Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Experience with 3D Coordination tools.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential.
• Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.

Responsibilities

• Work for the electrical discipline under supervision of an Engineer or other technical professional.
• Create and maintain the discipline model and generate BIM elements per LOD in the DDP.
• Coordinate designs with other discipline models during reviews and 3D coordination.
• Prepare detailed drawings and diagrams using current 3D software.
• Communicate BIM progress, clashes, and workload planning throughout the project.
• Ensure drawings follow company drafting standards and maintain model health.
