Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent

Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
Role: Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the E&I Superintendent oversees electrical, instrumentation, and HVAC activities on site. This position manages E/I Supervisors and provides departmental direction. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following responsibilities and skills.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee E/I/HVAC functions and manage E/I supervisors.
- Support and communicate all mill safety initiatives, standards, and policies.
- Ensure reliability road map initiatives progress and meet KPIs.
- Stay updated on new and changing maintenance technologies and equipment.
- Initiate, recommend, and provide solutions to instrumentation problems, verifying implementation.
- Ensure personnel are adequately trained in coordination with Maintenance supervisors.
- Define selection criteria and identify training needs for Maintenance personnel.
- Evaluate E/I maintenance spending against budget expectations.
- Prepare Job Training Checklists for Maintenance direct reports.
- Ensure Work Notification/Work Order processing and completion.
- Control, calibrate, and maintain monitoring and measuring devices.
- Collaborate with Supervisors, Union, and HR to resolve employee issues.
- Utilize the MOC process as required.
- Prepare and select appropriate Quality Assurance models for inspection and calibration equipment, advising Procurement accordingly.
- Review ISO Maintenance Procedures.
- Investigate E&I equipment issues and develop environmental performance improvements.
- Approve Gas Response and Gas Alarm Maintenance Procedures.
- Participate in the mill on-call rotation.

- Experience in maintenance system development, implementation, and use.
- Problem-solving ability in a team environment.
- Proficiency with preventative/predictive maintenance software, including SAP, PI, Park View, and Excel.
- Competency in employee resolution and accountability development.
Your Qualifications
- Red Seal trade in E/I Maintenance or a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong computer skills and experience with maintenance management software.
- Pulp and Paper industry experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory and planning experience.
