Job summary

The Town of Milton is seeking a Greeter for a temporary election role. The position involves greeting electors, directing them, and ensuring a smooth voting process at the polling location. Training is provided, and strict procedures must be followed.

Compensation includes an event rate of $220 per day plus $20 for training. Candidates must be 16 or older and able to work long hours, with access to a vehicle for location travel.

Qualifications

• Access to a vehicle to travel to the voting location.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Availability to work long hours.
• Ability to read and observe voting procedures at the voting location.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow directions, and complete repetitive duties.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Be at least 16 years of age on advance poll day or election day.

Responsibilities

• Assists with opening and closing the voting place.
• Greets electors at the voting location and requests proper identification.
• Assists electors with directions and instructions.
• Ensures the voting location is free of campaign materials.
• Notifies the DRO of issues or complaints quickly.
• Assists electors with disabilities if requested.
• Manages a large flow of electors at the location.
• Directs elector issues to the DRO as they arise.
• Assists with other duties as requested by the DRO.
