Qualifications

Red Seal interprovincial certification mandatory.
3–5 years electrician experience preferred.
Experience with AC/DC motors, drives, PLCs and distributed I/O.
Bilingual English/French preferred.

Responsibilities

Receive instructions, drawings, diagrams and work orders and plan procedures.
Isolate circuits and perform work with electrical principles and codes.
Troubleshoot and locate faults in electrical equipment by tracing circuits.
Repair or replace faulty motors, drives, controllers and wiring.
Install and connect electrical components and conduits for new or replacement work.
Work on high voltage equipment and perform repairs with care.
Operate with minimal direction and use CMMS to log activities.

Ivaco Rolling Mills is looking for CERTIFIED: Industrial or Construction & Maintenance Electricians to join our maintenance departments.

Applicants should have a good working knowledge of electronics, PLCs, troubleshooting, be familiar with power distribution, high voltage and be able to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Responsibilities

Receive instructions, drawings, diagrams, and work orders. Interprets drawings or diagrams and plan the details for the work procedure. Select tools required.
Knowledgeable on the proper isolation of circuits. Plan and perform work requiring a thorough working knowledge of electrical principles and codes, wire specification, the properties of various materials and the operation and application of equipment.
Locate sources of trouble of any type of electrical equipment by tracing and testing circuits and inspecting for faulty operation (troubleshooting).
Dismantle and assemble, inspect, repair, adjust, or replace faulty parts and wiring on motors, generators, power distribution and control panel circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic devices, etc.
Perform work on “hot” lines as required.
Replace coils, resistors, rheostats, relays, etc.
Adjust contactors, relays, etc. Reconnect terminal leads, panel boards and distribution feeders.
In emergencies, make temporary or permanent repairs to minimize interruption of production.
Install conduits, wires, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures. Connect and adjust all types of electrical equipment as required for new or replacement installations. Make all required splices and connector joints.
Perform rigging in connection with servicing of electrical equipment.
Perform work with a minimum of direction.
Arrange for the handling of materials and equipment to perform job.
Use CMMS system.
Work on high voltage equipment.
Verifie radiation alarms with the appropriate equipment.

Qualifications And Requirements

Red Seal interprovincial certification **MANDATORY**
Experience - Electrician: 3 to 5 years **preferred
Experience working with the following equipment: AC/DC motors, AC/DC drives, PLC’s and distributed I/O’s *an asset (GE PLC, ALLEN BRADLEY PLC, SIEMENS PLC)
Troubleshooting, Maintenance / Preventive Maintenance
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Bilingual: English and French (oral and written) ** preferred
Criminal background check
