POSITION TITLE: ELCC Program Coordinator - Community Connections

DEPARTMENT: Education

CLASSIFICATION: MGO-06

SALARY RANGE: Starting at $67,626.00 per Annum

POSITION TYPE: Full-time, Temporary (2-Year Term)

LOCATION: Saskatoon

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Early Learning and Child Care

Brief Overview

MN–S is looking for a strong, highly organized leader who is an exceptional communicator, and a natural problem solver. The Professional Development and Community Connections Coordinator will lead the planning of professional development conferences, the Christmas Present Program, and community events. This position is based at the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan office in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and development of educational conferences, Christmas Present Program, and community events.
  • Lead planning committees to host one annual Early Learning and Child Care conference on a national level and three mini-conferences at the provincial level.
  • Connect with Métis Local Presidents to implement the Métis Nation- Saskatchewan Christmas Present Program.
  • Facilitate community connections through provincial community events such as Saskatoon Children’s festival, Prince Albert Expo, etc.
  • Develop Briefing Notes.
  • Prepare and provide ongoing program supports and data to ensure successful project delivery and administration.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Collect data and prepare reports which may include monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Monitor the program budget.

  • Other duties/responsibilities as determined by the Director.

Knowledge And Skills

  • Proven experience in a previous similar role.
  • Knowledge of the structure and policies of federal, provincial, and MN-S governments would be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic and operational planning.
  • Budgeting skills, projection, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
  • Willingness to work within a team environment.
  • Strong time-management skills including the ability to prioritize daily tasks, exceptional organizational skills, and effective decision-making abilities.
  • Diligent work habits with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Salesforce experience is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary course in business administration or management with 2-3 years of experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience that directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities will be considered.
  • Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Adobe and Microsoft Office programs Outlook, Word, Publisher, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with Métis communities would be an asset.

Additional Requirements

  • Must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
