The Opportunity

Our Canada Gas Operations, Battle River Area is seeking a skilled and versatile EIC Measurement & Controls Technicianto join our team. Based in one of our key locations—Wainwright, Vegreville, or Vermilion—this role offers a unique opportunity to work across bothMeasurement and Controlsdisciplines.

Reporting to theArea Manager, Battle River Area, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing natural gas compression and measurement systems, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

This position is eligible for our domestic relocation program.

This position is eligible for Overtime, and the regular work schedule will be:

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; Friday off

Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on Friday

What you’ll do

  • Independently perform installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor stations, measurement facilities, and pipeline systems.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot gas analyzers, chromatographs, meters, PLCs, control valves, and auxiliary systems.
  • Operate and maintain gas turbines, generators, boilers, fuel gas compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Configure and install control system software; conduct Pre-Start Safety Reviews.
  • Lead and manage low/medium complexity projects, including contractor coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide emergency support and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Support business partners and mentor junior personnel.
  • Complete administrative tasks including SAP entries, reporting, and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certified Journeyman Electrician or Instrumentation Technician
  • 5+ years industry relevant experience
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with high-pressure natural gas systems
  • Proficient in SAP and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
  • Skilled in maintaining control systems and interpreting technical documentation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Up to date with technological advances in compression systems

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license and clean abstract for review
  • Pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25% of schedule) and stay overnight as needed.
  • Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
