About the Role

CENTRIX Control Solutions has an opening for an additional Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Designer to our Kelowna team. The Kelowna division’s main focus is the water and wastewater industry, but we also supply equipment to the mining, wood fiber and oil & gas industries.

Your responsibilities would include EI&C project design, estimating, project coordination, customer relations and some other related duties. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with electrical, instrumentation and controls industry experience.

Designing

  • AutoCAD design and layout for customization of motor control centers, PLC control panels and VFD cabinets
  • Selection and specification of instrumentation equipment and any related installations
  • AutoCAD design and layout of Ethernet and radio communications systems as they relate to SCADA
  • Understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and CSA standards as they apply to custom control panels and motor control centers
  • AutoCAD development of complete Electrical, Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) project drawings and specifications for municipal tender packages

Estimating

  • Prepare quotations for facility electrical controls systems including MCCs, electrical control panels (PLCs), instrumentation, SCADA systems and project labour
  • Interpret bid documents and drawings to create complete and accurate quotations
  • Work with a team to provide competitive pricing to customers and end users

Project Coordination

  • Ability to coordinate with team and assist with project management from quotation through to completion
  • Assist with inventory control and material ordering
  • Complete AutoCAD drawings of MCCs, control panels, and kiosks for internal review

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word & Outlook

  • Strong ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule when required to meet deadlines
Who We’re Looking For
  • Post-graduate education equivalent to technologist in a relevant field
  • Familiar with the water and wastewater industry
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning and material procurement
  • Experience with AutoCAD software and development of control panel layouts & wiring schematics
  • Experience in Industrial Ethernet design and configuration, with IT experience an asset
