EI&C Designer/Drafter

Tetra Tech is adding an EI&C Designer/Drafter to our Electrical, Instrumentation & Control team based in Calgary, AB.

Your Role:

• Prepare both rough sketches and detailed drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Perform design calculations, create material lists, and develop construction details and diagrams in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Develop and maintain standardized drawings and symbols for the company database.
• Design and draft PLC panels, JB drawings, Loop diagrams, Control architecture drawings, Building layouts, and more.
• Review third-party drawings such as civil, architectural, landscape, and utilities for conflicts and integration issues.
• 3D modeling for lighting, panels, and cable trays would be an asset.
• Ensure final designs meet client and company quality standards.
• Adhere to internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain high discipline and knowledge standards.
• Work safely, report health and safety incidents, and uphold safety protocols.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field (asset).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in an engineering consulting firm (considered an asset).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Experience with 3D design software (asset).
• Knowledge of Canadian Safety Code standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
