Job Description

Carlisle Weathering Proofing Technologies, a division of Carlisle Companies, is a growing leader in the building materials industry. Due to our expansion, we are hiring an EHS Specialist based in our Ontario facilities in Canada. This role will support two facilities in Ontario (Ajax and Kitchener).

This position is responsible for coordinating environmental, safety, and health activities across the facilities, including implementing, maintaining, and improving safety and health policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee EHS programs to enhance personnel safety, health, and environmental compliance.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training for all employees, including outside sales personnel and office staff.
  • Follow incident management processes, conduct investigations, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Ensure completion and communication of corrective actions from incident investigations, audits, and safety committee meetings.
  • Review and update EHS policies and procedures in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with WHMIS and GHS hazard communication requirements and keep SDSs current.
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene surveys (air, noise, ergonomics).
  • Ensure all documentation for new processes, materials, and equipment (SOPs, JSAs, LOTO) is completed.
  • Review safety documents such as safety committee minutes, inspection reports, and incident reports.
  • Maintain records of employee training, unsafe conditions corrections, and workplace inspections.
  • Manage all safety inspections and hazardous material checks.
  • Serve as the management representative for ISO 14001 / 9001 certifications.
  • Oversee annual updates to safety programs and manuals.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of OHSA and other EHS regulations.
  • Experience with problem-solving and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to work in a team, handle multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of CPR, BBP, and First Aid is preferred.
