Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist

Join a dynamic global manufacturer of medical devices as a Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Specialist. In this role, you will enhance and support the health, safety, and environmental systems at our site. This hybrid position allows you to work both on-site and remotely, supporting design laboratories, office, and manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Manage safety programs and ensure adherence to OSHA and EHS standards.
  • Facilitate training sessions and provide coaching on HSE practices.
  • Collaborate with office staff and operations to maintain a safe work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing occupational health and safety.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of key elements of an HSE program including ISO and OSHAS standards.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline.
  • Experience in facilitating trainings and coaching.
  • Willingness to seek accreditation as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (SHSC).

Work Environment

Work in a state-of-the-art, protocol-driven facility that is clean and well-lit. This hybrid role allows you to work four days on-site and one day from home, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.05 - $36.05/hr.
