Myant Inc. seeks an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator to manage the EHS program across its research, development and manufacturing environment.

This role ensures regulatory, safety, environmental and quality compliance while collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality & Regulatory, Facilities and R&D. The successful candidate will participate in regulatory inspections, ISO certification audits, audits of customers and suppliers, and internal compliance activities, identifying

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Chemistry.
• Experience supporting ISO certification audits.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with databases and documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the EHS programs and review safe job procedures and other EH&S documentation as assigned.
• Develop, update, and deliver training to new and existing employees regarding all aspects of the EH&S program.
• Maintain the chemical inventory data input, bar code creation, inventory update coordination and input, and monitoring of accuracy.
• Assist in meeting ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 certifications.
• Maintain SDS collection currency and availability.
• Provide regulatory compliance documentation for chemical shipments.
• Generate in-house SDSs for new and supplied chemicals.
• Conduct quarterly reviews to recognize new substances defined by Environment Canada.
• Conduct semi-annual fume hood operation surveys.
• Co-ordinate industrial hygiene surveys and maintain sample data as required.
• Evaluate tasks and identify engineering controls to protect personnel and select PPE.
• Respond to staff inquiries, concerns, and hazard reports with next steps.
• Support Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee operations and Internal Responsibility System.
• Maintain EH&S supplies inventory and PPE distribution.
• Participate in CAPA activities related to facility, environmental, safety and operational risks.
• Support environmental monitoring programs for controlled manufacturing environments.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOP and risk assessments for chemical and manufacturing processes.
• Maintain controls for hazardous chemicals, dust, vapours and other exposures.
• Industrial hygiene monitoring and exposure assessments with appropriate controls.
