Job description

We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Coordinator passionate about making a positive business impact. This is a great opportunity to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success!

Reporting to the Manager of EHS, the EHS Coordinator will work on-site as the front-line contact for occupational risk management and environmental protection & conservation. The role involves implementing actions and programs aligned with the CertainTeed Canada EHS Strategy and the Saint-Gobain EHS Policy and Charter.

Main Responsibilities :

1. Maintain and update the hazard identification program, including card collection, data entry, and defining corrective actions with managers.
2. Conduct inspections of critical equipment, systems, documents, and records to ensure compliance with legal standards.
3. Support Standards Owners with deployment and review of SG Health & Safety Standards, review safety observations, and collaborate on risk reduction plans.
4. Participate in JHSC Committee meetings, inspections, and safety minutes publication.
5. Organize EHS Events such as EHS Day, campaigns, and training sessions. Conduct onboarding orientations in the absence of the EHS Manager.
6. Manage the Respiratory Program, including fit testing and annual inspections.
7. Support environmental compliance activities, liaising with environmental consultants and government agencies.

Is This Job For You?

1. Possess an undergraduate degree or diploma in a related applied sciences field, along with an Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
2. Have 1-2 years of experience as an EHS Coordinator or similar role.
3. Be capable of conducting training sessions and facilitating group presentations.
4. Have strong skills in incident investigation, risk assessment, and legislative compliance research.
5. Experience working in ISO standards, unionized manufacturing environments, and managing WCB reporting and return-to-work processes.
6. Experience in policy and procedure writing for health and safety.
