Position Overview:

Under the direction of a higher-level professional, the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator conducts field assessments of EHS issues within a specific organizational segment to ensure operational activities comply with organizational needs and regulatory requirements. This role involves structured assignments requiring interpretation of data and regulations, identification of problem sources, and potential remedial actions.

  1. Apply developed EHS procedures and tools, involving limited methodological innovations, to perform well-defined assignments.
  2. Contribute to recommendations for changes to procedures, standards, and equipment use.
  3. Support specific components of larger projects directed by senior EHS professionals.
  4. Assist in collecting information for external regulatory agencies.
  5. Collaborate with employees to identify potential EHS risks and aspects.
  6. Propose revisions to programs, policies, and equipment specifications.

Job Requirements:

  1. 1-3 years of experience as a safety professional or in a related field.
  2. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) certification preferred.
  3. Knowledge of federal EPA and state environmental protection programs.
  4. Understanding of behavioral-based safety concepts related to industrial and manufacturing processes.
  5. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
