We are seeking a diligent and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for a civil infrastructure construction project in Montreal, working the overnight shift. The ideal candidate will hold a Prevention Agent Card (COSS) and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety on site.

What You’ll Do Here :

  • Develop and implement safety policies: Create, implement, and manage health and safety strategies and policies tailored to the construction site.
  • Conduct risk assessments: Identify potential hazards and implement preventative measures to mitigate risks.
  • Apply rules as per the Construction Safety Code.
  • Training and education: Provide training and education to staff on health and safety protocols and best practices.
  • Safety inspections and audits: Regularly inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Incident investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Compliance monitoring: Ensure all activities comply with relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on health and safety activities to senior management.
  • Emergency preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and conduct drills.

What You Bring to the Team :

  • Prevention Agent Card (COSS): Mandatory.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in civil infrastructure construction.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to train and influence others.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous in identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance.
