Duties and Responsibilities :
Ensure all regulatory and environmental compliance requirements regarding wildlife are captured, interpreted, communicated, assigned responsibility, tracked, and met or exceeded so that the operations are executed in a manner that is compliant with applicable environmental laws and regulations.
Interface with environmental regulators and regional stakeholders, in person or via phone or email.
Coordinate site visits and inspections and accompany environmental regulators when on site.
Manage the communication of information and requests to and from environmental regulators and maintain records of all communications.
Support Operations in understanding and executing their regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S), technical groups and regional counterparts to improve process and outcomes for the company.
Requirements and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Environmental OR occupational safety, health or other related scientific disciplinesfrom a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by WES.
Minimum one to twoyears of experience in mining, oil / gas, or environmental management.
Proficient knowledge of Canadian environmental legislation.
Competent on Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
Well developed in diplomacy, very strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, multi-task, prioritize and make decisions
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on critical deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada
