Job description

This is a senior leadership role overseeing distillation, blending, production planning, compliance, and day-to-day operations. You will manage a small team, ensure quality across all processes, and help shape the future of the distillery through innovation, efficiency, and strategic thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of spirit production, including fermentation, distillation, blending, aging, and bottling.
  • Maintain high product quality, consistency, and innovation across all SKUs.
  • Oversee production planning, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations (CRA excise, LDB reporting, etc).
  • Maintain accurate production logs, SOPs, batch sheets, and traceability systems.
  • Manage, train, and mentor production staff.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with ownership and departments on new product development, seasonal releases, and R&D.
  • Provide input on budget planning, forecasting, and operational scaling.
  • Commitment to overall team and company success with a willingness to assist with duties outside of scope as needed.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in distilling or related beverage alcohol production.
  • Proven leadership experience in a hands-on production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of distillation systems, process flow, and compliance.
  • Experience with excise tracking, audits, and monthly reporting.
  • Skilled in team management, scheduling, and process optimization.
  • A formal distilling education or technical background is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production equipment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Bonus

  • Experience developing and launching new products.
  • Familiarity with production planning, inventory software, or ERP tools.
