Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in heavy industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge in mechanical engineering and project management.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.

Your future role on our team

To pursue project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and executing various projects in the mining, metals, and energy sectors. BBA's mechanical engineering teams stand out among Côte-Nord clients because of their cutting-edge technical expertise, combined with an unrivalled commitment and understanding of operating and maintaining industrial mechanical equipment.

Your role as an engineer and project leader will involve participating in engineering, selecting technology, and executing projects in the mining, energy, and heavy industry sectors. You will help identify business opportunities with clients and draft proposals. You’ll play an essential technical and project management role, contributing to the firm’s business development by maintaining client relationships.

  • Help write technical reports.
  • Lead and participate in designing plans, specifications, and details based on guidelines from a senior engineer.
  • Perform design calculations and ensure plans meet guidelines, code requirements, and regulations.
  • Prepare material lists and bills of lading according to codes, standards, drawings, and other methods in compliance with BBA’s quality system.
  • Provide recommendations on establishing standards and practical applications.
  • Coordinate the work of drafters or other team members.
  • Assign and review work of less experienced engineers, technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure work complies with budgets, schedules, estimates, and procedures.
  • Plan, organize, lead, and coordinate projects.
  • Perform technical information surveys.
  • Assist in commissioning, troubleshooting systems, and drafting proposals.

Overview Of Certifications And Job Requirements
  • University degree in mechanical engineering and membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in heavy industrial projects
  • Availability for short-term work assignments between Sept-Îles and Labrador City, depending on needs
  • ASP Construction card
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Navisworks, and other relevant applications
  • Asset: experience in heavy industry sectors (mining, petrochemicals, energy, etc.)
  • Asset: knowledge of SmartPlant 3D, CADWorx, ANSYS, and Fathom
  • Asset: bilingual in English and French
