Job description

One of Stellar's engineering clients is searching for a Subcontract Specialist, where the successful candidate will participate in managing subcontracts for large-scale high value projects in a marine environment. Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage the prequalification and selection of bidders
  • Prepare and issue Request for Proposal (RFP) documents, including commercial and technical content
  • Conduct bid openings, manage bid clarification meetings, and ensure integrity throughout the bid process
  • Coordinate technical and commercial evaluations, negotiate terms, and manage recommendations for award
  • Oversee subcontract management, including changes related to cost and schedule, and monitor supplier progress
  • Approve milestone payments and administer supplier claims, ensuring timely and accurate contract compliance

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Science, Finance, or Law preferred
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement or contract administration, preferably in the shipbuilding industry
  • Professional certification (e.g., PMAC, SCMP, P.Log., CPIM) is desirable
  • Proven track record in managing multi-million-dollar subcontracts with complex requirements
  • Strong negotiation, decision-making, and administrative skills for effective contract management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused approach

Pay Rate : $40-$45.00 / hour
