Job description

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a Mental Health Leadership Team Member, the Mental Health Provider, Generalist, will provide mental health services in an integrated health care agency serving UW-Madison students across identities and programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group therapy services;
  • Participating in clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services during business hours;
  • Offering campus-based services, outreach, programming, and consultation;
  • Responding to campus crises;

Additional options for direct clinical services may include:

  • Behavioral health interventions within Medical Services;
  • Couple/partner therapy services;
  • Supervision of trainees, including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary actions;
  • Administering and interpreting limited assessment measures;
  • Developing teaching relationships with academic departments.
Administrative Duties:
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for all clinical interactions;
  • Participating in program development and implementation;
  • Collaborating with UHS providers and campus partners;
  • Adhering to agency policies, state statutes, ethical guidelines, HIPAA, and FERPA;
  • Attending meetings and professional development activities;
  • Serving on committees and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:

Provides comprehensive psychological services, including assessment, evaluation, consultation, and psychotherapy, to promote mental health and well-being. Specific duties include:

  • Performing psycho-diagnostic and psychological assessments;
  • Identifying psychological disorders and emotional patterns;
  • Assessing safety risks and developing safety plans;
  • Developing and monitoring treatment programs;
  • Completing clinical reports;
  • Providing expertise, training, and guidance to community, peers, and students.

Education:

Required: Terminal Doctoral Degree in counseling or clinical psychology. If you are a Counselor or Social Worker, apply under that qualification.

Qualifications:

Required: 1 year of experience in a mental health setting. Preferred: Two years' experience, including providing counseling, crisis assessment, consultation, and working with diverse populations. Additional preferred experiences include supervision, multidisciplinary teamwork, and specialized services.

License/Certification:

Must hold or be eligible for State Licensure as a Psychologist. Must complete licensure requirements within specified timeframes.

Work Details:

Full-time position with potential for remote work. Appointment is ongoing and renewable. Salary starts at $68,000 annually, depending on qualifications.
