This role reports into our National Aviation Vertical and requires full-time travel throughout the United States.

Role Summary

The Safety Manager will manage and implement the field safety program and team for construction projects. This position is responsible for monitoring construction projects, compiling accident statistics, and interpreting government policies and recommendations. All activities support JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Manage and implement the field safety program and team for construction projects.
  • Communicate safety philosophies and policies to team members, site foremen, superintendents, and project managers to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Assist in interpreting company, owner, and government safety policies and recommendations.
  • Compile accident data, analyze trends, and recommend safety program improvements.
  • Administer and monitor drug and alcohol testing in accordance with regulations.
  • Implement accident and incident reporting protocols.
  • Assist in accident investigations, documentation, and reporting.
  • Work with insurance contacts on safety-related claims and monitor medical treatments.
  • Conduct safety audits, identify hazards, and ensure timely abatement.
  • Develop and implement training strategies and programs.
  • Monitor safety metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and safety software.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and testing protocols.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Ability to build relationships and manage a team.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety/health, construction management, or related field required. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years of construction safety experience required.
  • 0-2 years of team management experience required.
Working Environment
  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license required.
