A day in the life of a Capital One Strategy Analyst

As a Strategy Analyst, you’ll develop analytical skills, solve problems, and think critically from day one. You’ll work within a cross-functional team, bringing strategies to life from conception to market delivery, measuring impact through testing and monitoring, and being responsible for customer and financial outcomes. Your tasks include data gathering and visualization, storytelling through presentations, collaborating with legal and technology experts, and influencing senior leadership decisions.

You’ll use tools like SQL, spreadsheets, Python notebooks, and presentation slides, working in an agile environment alongside data scientists, process managers, and product owners. Our analysts are deployed across various areas such as product design, fraud prevention, customer acquisition, and management strategy, with opportunities to rotate across different business functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform modeling and analytics to support new product and pricing strategies.
• Develop marketing strategies and initiatives to support business growth.
• Create targeted insights to inform customer experience design and new technology deployment.
• Support improvements in credit performance through data analysis and risk modeling.

Basic Qualifications

• Graduated with a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree between 2023 and 2024 in relevant fields such as Commerce, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with coding and data visualization tools like SQL, Python, Tableau, or QuickSight. Prior model building or coding experience is a plus, but a strong interest and aptitude for learning are sufficient.
• Experience in analytical problem-solving.
