Join our team

The in-house TELUS Legal Services team provides world-class, innovative solutions to the TELUS group of companies. Our scope of work is broad and diverse, including contract and commercial law, regulatory law, commercial litigation, privacy law, intellectual property law, real estate and environmental law, securities law, employment law, pensions, financing, mergers and acquisitions, and competition law. We are trusted advisors who collaborate closely with leaders and teams across the organization to deliver better outcomes for internal and external customers.

The Corporate Governance team

The Corporate Governance team is at the heart of the TELUS group of companies. Our team supports the entire organization by maintaining corporate records, including coordinating with agents around the world. We manage and distribute information about our corporate structure accurately, efficiently, and with a focus on our clients' needs.

Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together

As a motivated and team-oriented Paralegal, you will work closely with lawyers on the Corporate Governance team, internal clients on the TELUS Legal Services and Regulatory Affairs team, stakeholders across the organization, and external service providers across Canada and internationally. This role will have an international focus as we integrate new acquisitions around the world into TELUS systems and processes.

As TELUS continues to grow and evolve, you will play a key role in ensuring our corporate structure supports this growth and evolution. You will drive record management and support transactions related to acquisitions and reorganizations.

Here’s How
  1. Coordinate with our agents (including legal services providers) internationally to ensure corporate records are properly maintained and governance processes are respected.
  2. Prepare and file annual returns, extra-provincial filings, notices of change regarding directors and officers, and any additional filings for all subsidiaries in multiple jurisdictions.
  3. Draft shareholder and director resolutions for matters such as election of directors, appointment of officers, and share transactions for all subsidiaries.
  4. Assist lawyers with document preparation for corporate reorganizations and M&A transactions.
  5. Maintain organization charts.
  6. Respond to requests for corporate information in support of a wide variety of transactions and projects.
  7. Work closely with the lawyers on the Corporate Governance team to develop new processes and implement new technology that will continually improve the service provided.
You’re the missing piece of the puzzle
  1. Respected for your 2 to 4 years’ paralegal experience working with minute books/corporate records and registrations in a law firm or in-house.
  2. Known as someone who enjoys taking on new challenges.
  3. Distinguished for your excellent organizational skills and your ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple assignments.
  4. Valued for your ability to work in a team setting where all members set and exceed challenging objectives throughout the year.
  5. Skilled in using ALF or a similar corporate management system.
  6. With a Paralegal certificate or diploma.
Great-to-haves
  • Accreditation or experience with corporate filings in other provinces of Canada or the US, in addition to your home province.
