Shillington McCall LLP is a downtown London firm with a thriving insurance defence practice. We are recruiting a full-time legal assistant to join our team. While experience in insurance defence/personal injury is an asset, we know that our mentorship and training program provides the ability for a bright and motivated individual without such experience to thrive.

Required Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Litigation, tort and accident benefits files an asset;
  • Post-secondary Law Clerk Diploma or related discipline from an accredited institution;
  • Thorough knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Courteous, client-focused and professional attitude;
  • Resourceful individual who takes initiative;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adjust to changing priorities, and multi-tasking skills;
  • Strong organizational, attention to detail, and time-management skills;
  • Detail oriented with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
  • Knowledge of Soluno, NetDocuments, ACL and Microsoft Office;

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Calendar management;
  • Co-ordinate and schedule Examinations for Discovery, Mediations, meetings, etc;
  • Drafting correspondence, pleadings, motion records, and other legal documents;
  • Serving and Filing court documents;
  • Opening and Closing files;
  • Other duties related to administration of the practice;
