Hours of Work: Scheduled 12-hour shifts based on a 24/7 operating environment (mike approved this wording)

What You’ll Do
- Remotely assist in the maintenance of NWS facilities systems, including but not limited to, data/voice communications, multiplexers, satellite/RF communications, router based IP networks, helicopter monitor and SCADA systems.
- Monitor the status of and remotely control NWS site equipment, analyze and correct system faults, change equipment parameters and configurations.
- Review corrective maintenance work requests for priority, work estimation and feasibility.
- Review work orders upon completion
- Performing preventive maintenance on communications equipment at the NWSCC Liaise with 22 Wing System Maintenance (SM) and request authorization for system downtime, verify operational status of NWS equipment after downtime, enter data and ensure the accuracy of Equipment Status Reports.
- Inform 22 Wing SM, NWSO and Nasittuq personnel of site emergencies/outages/incidents.
Education
Who Are You:
- Completion of a postsecondary program in an electronics field or CF military equivalent.
Experience
- A minimum of five years of experience on the job training working with radar/communications electronic systems.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
- Knowledge of telecommunications, RF, satellite, IP network systems, with ability to read and interpret related drawings and manuals.
- Proficiency in the use of commercial test equipment and tools used in troubleshooting and repair of electronic circuits.
- Knowledge of radar systems is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret related drawings and manuals.
- Proven communication, analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
