Job description

Canada Brick joins Arriscraft, the stone products group of General Shale, in Canadian operations. Operating from three manufacturing facilities in Ontario - Burlington and Aldershot - Canada Brick is well-positioned to serve the Canadian market.

A Plant Utility position has become available at the Aldershot Plant. This is a 12- hour continental (day / night) shift position, new hire start rate is $25. (After sufficient training is met pays $28.36).

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain good housekeeping in all departments of the plant, including the Grinding dept.
  • Maintains a clean and organized Plant, including racks.
  • Clean out safety guards from scrap belts in all departments, empty all bins in the plant including the dust collector in the making department.
  • To assist the kiln car operator when needed in repair / rebuild of kiln cars.
  • Keep mobile vacuum working effectively and empty scrap hopper.
  • Participates with snow removal or ice in front of all entrance / exit doors in the Plant.
  • Actively supports other crew members, when in need.
  • Reports Maintenance requests to the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand when maintenance issues arise.
  • 5S – sort, store, shine, standardize & sustain their department
  • Communicate & work as a team with other operators.
  • Reports Maintenance requests to the Production Supervisor or Lead Hand.
  • Preventative maintenance of mobile equipment. (Clean and wash)
  • Work in a safe and efficiently manner, according to company policies.
  • Works towards achieving Zero Harm Today
  • Assist with any other duties as required by Production Supervisor or Lead Hand., when the need arises.

EDUCATION :

  • High school diploma

WORK EXPERIENCE :

  • Brick manufacturing experience preferred

SKILLS REQUIRED :

  • General understanding of control systems
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Valid Lift Truck Certification
  • Committed to working in a zero harm workplace
