Overview
As a member of our financial team, the Senior Accountant is responsible for providing accurate and timely financial analysis to ensure the organization has the best information to assist with strategical decision making. You will support the Controller by producing the month, quarter and year ends, mastering the financial reporting and general ledgers, and assisting with forecasting and budgeting activities. As well, you will work with a team, engage with internal clients, and provide support in a positive and engaging manner.
Key Responsibilities
Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts
Transaction review and coding
Reconcile intercompany transactions and cross billings
Compiling working papers for review
Financial statement and note disclosure preparation in compliance with ASPE
Budgeting and forecasting
Project cost analysis as required
Interacting with auditors and preparation of year-end audit files
Assisting with special projects as required
Key Requirements
3-5 years’ experience in financial reporting
Advanced computer skills (accounting software and MS Office)
Proven ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, multi-task, and deliver under tight deadlines
Highly organized
Flexibility to work on projects as a team member and also independently
High level of integrity and professionalism
Ability to focus on details and accuracy
Professional accounting designation or working towards completion, will be considered an asset
