Director – Treasury and M&A

The Director of Treasury and M&A will be a key member of the leadership team reporting to the CFO. This person will oversee complex finance initiatives, including the strategy and execution of treasury and cash management functions for both the Canadian and US divisions, as well as oversee M&A activities as required by the CEO and Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will provide insightful recommendations and successfully manage relationships with the Company’s banking partners.

Treasury responsibilities:

  1. Manage daily cash positioning and forecasting to ensure optimal liquidity.
  2. Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks, including interest rate, foreign exchange, and credit risks.
  3. Oversee relationships with banking partners and negotiate terms for banking services and credit facilities.
  4. Lead the treasury team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to approximately 10 employees.
  5. Collaborate with finance, accounting, and legal departments to support cross-functional initiatives.
  6. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in treasury management.

M&A responsibilities:

  1. Drive growth strategy through identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and partnerships.
  2. Work with leadership to assess opportunities, conduct due diligence, negotiate, and oversee post-transaction integration.
  3. Lead end-to-end M&A processes, including target evaluation, financial modeling, and negotiations.
  4. Collaborate with finance, legal, operations, and strategy teams to assess strategic fit and integration needs.
  5. Maintain relationships with external advisors, investment banks, and stakeholders.
  6. Align with leadership on strategic priorities and investment criteria.
  7. Present proposals and recommendations to senior management and the board.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a focus on M&A.
  • Experience with cash management and treasury.
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
  • Adaptable, resilient, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.
