Job description

Our Whiteshell Laboratories (WL) is looking for a Materials Logistics Administrator to control the site's central store inventory and obsolete surplus materials required to support operations and decommissioning activities. Apply today!

What will you be doing!

  • Ordering goods and materials as required to maintain inventory levels.
  • Reviewing and adding stock requests when required; adjusting order points and quantities if needed.
  • Collecting and dispositioning salvaged materials at best value to CNL.
  • Acting as back-up Storeskeeper when required.
  • Adjusting, issuing credits and negative receipts, and confirming price changes, quantities, and material descriptions to allow accurate receipts.
  • Adjusting order points and quantities.
  • Ordering non-inventory items for Stores.
  • Keeping accurate records of materials.
  • Issuing requisitioned materials, equipment and supplies; reviewing order points; and conducting physical inventories.
  • Assisting requisitioners by answering enquiries or supplying information on Store services.
  • Checking packages for pickup, delivery or shipment.
  • Recording returnable container demurrage and deposits.
  • Monitoring Stores backorders on the Automated Procurement System (APS) daily and weekly.
  • Conducting a physical inventory count to balance the Automated Inventory module and reconcile the General Ledger.
  • Issuing credits for material returned from customers.
  • Maintaining and distributing Stores Inventory Catalogues as required.
  • Handling customer inquiries regarding inventory status and material specifications.
  • Determining if over-shipments should be retained or returned to the vendor by using available resources, reports and item history.
  • Maintaining required statistics and generating monthly reports.
  • Providing assistance to Quality Assurance (QA) personnel in understanding the APS, dealing with both receiving and issuing, and inspecting Stores inventory materials.
  • Generating reports as required for Managers and internal customers.
  • Approving payment of freight invoices, fuel invoices, or others as approved by the Manager.
  • Managing the disposal of surplus assets.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Grade 12 or equivalent in technical training and/or experience.
  • Experience
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and Oracle 11i computer systems.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to obtain Group 4 Radiation Protection Training.
    • Trained in the handling of Dangerous Goods, air and ground.
    • Trained in the handling of Workplace Hazardous Materials.
    • Ability to take responsibility for best value of purchased goods.
    • Effective oral and written communication and listening skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of stores procedures, Oracle 11i, freight invoicing process, Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Ability to maintain working relationships with external and internal customers and contacts.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and supervision.
    • Knowledge of external industry standards regarding the storage and movement of materials and salvage values.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

  • We have a compressed work week, which consists of a four-day work week and ten hours a day, starting at 6 am.
  • Must be capable of wearing and working in protective clothing.
  • Long periods of time sitting, working at a computer monitor, and typing.

Location:
