Job description

Under the general guidance of the Director of Admissions, the Admitted Student Advisor works to ensure a seamless transition into the University by maintaining close communication with admitted students until they matriculate. The role involves overseeing transfer credit processes, registration, orientation, relocation, and securing funding in a timely manner.

The primary responsibilities include meeting enrollment goals by ensuring students meet requirements, acting as a liaison between students and university departments, and assisting students in overcoming obstacles to matriculation.

The Advisor is also responsible for maintaining accurate student records in the CRM system and ensuring records are transferred to the Registrar’s office after the start of the term.

Allocation of Time

Applicant Engagement: 60%

  • Proactively outreach to incoming students to keep them engaged through the start of classes.
  • Plan and execute engagement events to reduce melt.
  • Assign mentors to prospective students for additional support.
  • Collaborate with student organizations to foster community.
  • Train students on accessing university systems.
  • Assist with transfer credit evaluation and completion of review process.
  • Support students in course registration and orientation completion.
  • Help with relocation resources for students moving to Chicago and Vancouver.
  • Manage social media outlets to engage incoming students.
  • Gather outstanding documents for class start.
  • Maintain accurate communication records.
  • Monitor student progress through the first 10 days of the term.
  • Coordinate with Registrar and Program Directors for course availability.
  • Work with Financial Aid to ensure funding is secured.
  • Collaborate across departments to communicate policies and resources.

Other Responsibilities: 10%

  • Participate in weekly team meetings and share insights on enrollment trends.
  • Maintain knowledge of programs, policies, and admissions requirements.
  • Develop professional development plans.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in admissions, higher education, or sales environment.
Work Environment

Primarily seated (80%), with walking and standing (10% each). Located on Vancouver campus with potential for hybrid work.

Salary Range

$45,000 - $55,000 CAD
