Finning Canada is seeking a passionate Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal preferred) to join our industry-leading team in Estevan. This role involves disassembly, assembly, maintenance, and diagnostics of various Caterpillar equipment in a shop environment.

Position Overview: As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for disassembly, assembly, maintenance, and diagnostics of Caterpillar equipment. Major Job Functions:

  • Disassembly and assembly of CAT Used Equipment, including components like drives and brakes
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on equipment
  • Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
  • Complete technical documentation such as service reports and warranty notes
  • Interact with customers and team members
  • Collaborate with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks

Specific Skills & Experience:

  • Journeyperson Red Seal HET certification preferred
  • Ability to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Valid driver’s license with a recent clean driving abstract
  • Safety-conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Assets include completion of Finning S-Levels, Failure Analysis, Machine Electronic Controls, Tier 4 training, Caterpillar product courses, and experience with Caterpillar products or engine rebuilding

Note: 3rd/4th year Apprentice Mechanics will also be considered.
