Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc (TteS) is a fast-growing vibrant organization committed to the development and progress of its Band Members and Community. As such, the TteS invites applications from qualified, highly motivated and dynamic individuals to fill the following position.
POSITION TITLE: Utilities Operator D-1
DEPARTMENT: Planning and Engineering
SUPERVISOR: Utilities Supervisor
TERMS: Full-Time Permanent
REFERENCE #: 2025-066
Purpose of Position:
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for the overall operation of TteS Wastewater Collection (WWC), Water Distribution (domestic) and Dam systems to ensure quality of water, health, safety and maintenance standards are provided in the community.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Professional Certification, Education and Experience:
• Level I EOCP Wastewater Collection and Water Distribution Certificates or the intention of writing such exams.
• Must possess a valid class 5 BC Drivers License.
• Must possess First Aid Level 1 Certificate
• Must Possess Confined Space Entry & Monitor Certificate
• Must Possess Fall Protection Certificate
Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work.
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to the environment.
• Self-motivated, and reliable.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing including writing reports recording daily activities in logbook/journal.
• A willingness to learn and good mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
• Ability to use computer applications.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks, establish priorities and respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
• Flexible, committed and enthusiastic.
• Strong ethics and knowledge of confidentiality.
• It is expected that all TteS employees be willing to continuously upgrade their skills and knowledge, and to further their formal training.
Benefits:
HOURS OF WORK: Normal Day shifts - 7 hours. Non-normal shifts may be required.
PAY GRADE: Starting at $22.59 to $33.22 depending on education and experience.
